Terms of Service
SALT STUDIOS · www.liveinsalt.com · Santa Cruz, California
Effective date: November 2026
Last updated: October 29, 2026
1. Agreement to These Terms
Welcome to SALT STUDIOS ("SALT," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of www.liveinsalt.com (the "Website"), our booking and account tools, and our classes, memberships, and services at our studio in Santa Cruz, California (together, the "Services").
By using the Website, creating an account, purchasing a membership or class, or booking a class, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
If you buy a membership, you will also agree to our Membership Agreement, which includes the specific price, term, and billing details for your purchase. If these Terms and your Membership Agreement conflict about your membership, the Membership Agreement controls.
2. Who Can Use the Services
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase a membership, or book a class. Participants under 18 may attend only as described in our youth policy and with a signed parent or guardian waiver.
You agree to give us accurate, current information and to keep it up to date.
3. Your Account
Booking, payments, and account management are handled through our booking platform, Momence. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Please tell us right away if you think someone has used your account without permission.
We may suspend or close an account that is used in violation of these Terms, shared with others, or used to harm the studio, our staff, or other members.
4. Memberships, Class Packs, and Payments
Pricing and taxes. Prices are shown at checkout and in your Membership Agreement. Prices may change over time, but changes will not affect a membership term you have already purchased. Applicable taxes are added where required.
Payment. By purchasing, you authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge your payment method for the amounts you owe, including recurring charges, fees, and taxes.
Founding memberships. If you purchased a SALT Founders membership, the founding rate described at purchase stays locked for as long as that membership remains active, as set out in your Membership Agreement. Any changes to the rate after the first initial term will be communicated through writing at least 30 days before the change with an option to decline. The founding rate does not carry over if your membership ends and you later sign up again.
Automatic renewal. Memberships renew automatically unless you cancel. Before you purchase, we will show you:
the price and billing frequency;
the length of any commitment term (for example, 12 months);
that the membership will renew automatically at the end of each term, for a new term of the same length, at the then-current price shown in your account, until you cancel; and
how to cancel.
You will be asked to agree to automatic renewal separately at checkout.
How to cancel. You can cancel your membership online at any time through your Momence account, or by contacting us at hello@liveinsalt.com. For commitment memberships, cancelling stops the next renewal. Your membership stays active, and billing continues, until the end of your current term. If you do not cancel before the renewal date, your membership renews for a new full term. You can cancel in your account during the last month of your term and before the renewal charge. We will send you a reminder before renewal where the law requires it.
Credits. Class credits included with a membership or pack are used as described at purchase. Unused credits do not roll over to the next billing period or term, are not redeemable for cash, and are not transferable, unless your Membership Agreement says otherwise.
Freezes. You may request to freeze a membership as described below. A freeze pauses billing and class booking for the length of the freeze and extends your commitment term by the same length. To request a freeze, contact us at hello@liveinsalt.com [Describe any minimum or maximum freeze length and any notice period.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge, suspend your booking privileges until your account is current, or cancel the membership. You remain responsible for amounts owed.
Refunds. Except where required by law or stated in your Membership Agreement, payments are non-refundable and unused classes or credits are not refunded.
Your legal cancellation rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any cancellation or refund rights you have under California law, including any right to cancel within the period required by law after signing a membership contract.
5. Booking, Cancellations, Late Cancels, and No-Shows
Booking. Classes are booked in advance through the Website or the SALT app (powered by Momence). Booking a class reserves a spot and uses one credit (or counts toward your unlimited membership).
6-hour cancellation rule. You may cancel a booking up to 6 hours before the class start time. If you cancel at least 6 hours before the class starts, your credit is returned. If you cancel later than that, the credit is forfeited.
Unlimited memberships. Unlimited members are charged a late-cancel fee of $15 for a cancellation made less than 6 hours before class, and a no-show fee of $25 for missing a class without cancelling. [Confirm whether fees also apply to other membership tiers or class packs.]
Check-in corrections. If a check-in was missed or entered in error, we can correct it if you let us know within 6 hours after class.
Class changes. We may change, reschedule, or cancel classes, instructors, or the schedule at any time. If we cancel a class you booked, we will return your credit or rebook you where possible.
Arriving late. For safety and to keep the room experience smooth, we do not allow late arrivals past 5 minutes of the start time.
6. Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk
Our classes, including HOT, LAGREE, and BOUNCE, involve physical exertion, and HOT classes take place in a heated room. Exercise carries a risk of injury and other health issues. You are responsible for deciding whether our classes are appropriate for you.
Before you start, please speak with your doctor if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have any concerns about exercising or exercising in heat. Stay hydrated, listen to your body, and tell an instructor if you feel unwell. You may rest or leave the room at any time.
Before taking your first class, you must complete and sign our Liability Waiver. We may refuse or end participation in a class if we believe it is unsafe for you or others.
Nothing in these Terms is medical advice.
7. Studio Conduct and Etiquette
We want SALT to be welcoming and safe for everyone. You agree to treat staff, instructors, and other members with respect; follow instructor and staff directions; follow studio rules posted in the studio and on the Website; and use equipment as instructed and report damaged equipment.
We may remove a person from a class or the studio, and suspend or end their membership, for unsafe, harassing, discriminatory, or disruptive conduct, or for repeated violations of these Terms. Where a membership is ended for cause, refunds are at our discretion unless the law says otherwise.
8. Photos, Video, and Social Media
We may take photos and video at the studio and at events for marketing and social media. If you do not want to be featured, tell us at hello@liveinsalt.com or let a team member know, and we will do our reasonable best to honor your request.
9. Website Use and Intellectual Property
The Website and its content, including the SALT STUDIOS name, logo, brand materials, text, images, class formats, and graphics, are owned by or licensed to SALT and protected by law. You may view and use the Website for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, scrape, reproduce, modify, distribute, or use our content or brand for commercial purposes without our written permission.
You also agree not to interfere with the Website or its security, attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, or use the Website for anything unlawful.
10. Third-Party Services
The Website and Services rely on third-party tools, such as our website host (Squarespace), our booking, membership, and payment platform (Momence), and our payment processor. Their services may have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for third-party services outside our control. The Website may also link to third-party sites that we do not control.
11. Emails and Text Messages
If you give us your email address or phone number, you may receive account, booking, and service messages from us, such as confirmations, reminders, and schedule changes. If you opt in to marketing messages, we may also send you promotions and news. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the message, and you can opt out of text messages by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply. We will still send necessary service messages about your account and bookings.
12. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy, available at https://www.liveinsalt.com/privacy, explains how we collect, use, and share your information. By using the Services, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
13. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website and Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Website will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular fitness results will be achieved.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SALT and its owners, employees, instructors, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the Website or Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to SALT in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under California law, including liability for our own fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence. Your Liability Waiver sets out additional terms about participation in classes.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a concern, please contact us first at hello@liveinsalt.com so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot, any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in or serving Santa Cruz County, California, and you and SALT consent to those courts.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on the Website and change the "Last updated" date above. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in your account. Changes do not alter the price or term of a membership you have already purchased. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
17. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. These Terms, together with your Membership Agreement, Liability Waiver, and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and SALT about the Services.
